Lajtorja / Ladder
The word “lajtorja” originates from the German language’s ‘leitara’, a ladder-like tool, which has it’s name from the verb “hleithra” (to lean on) – reflecting on the method of usage.
I designed Lajtorja to be an easily transportable and foldable tool, which only needs a small place to be stored – unlike the usual wide and rigid ladders. In this case, a rope is spread between two static pieces makes it possible to climb it. This conceptual object is a transition betweet standard ladders and rope ladders, and can be used inside or out as well.
