While redesigning the visual identity and logo of Egyenlő Bánásmód Hatóság (Equal Treatment Authority), the main goal was to communicate the organization’s purpose and values, and to attract attention.
The accent of the character “Ő” – unique to the Hungarian language – was rotated in a 90° angle to form an equal sign. The eye is drawn to the equal sign, while looking for the missing character of the familiar word, thus making the understanding a two-step process, which helps the viewer to remember the brand. The rotated “Ő” can be used alone on creative platforms, as it can be interpreted as a unisex personal pronoun, which creates a sort of self-reflection between the person and the interface.
